Human Centipede

It's been a pretty eventful week.

I skipped school on monday and tuesday to work as a volunteer usher at PromaxBDA 2011. I can't decide whether last year or this year was better. They were both very interesting in their own ways.

This is a shot from my work place. Yes, that is indeed a giant beanbag. I wish I had a beanbag as a bed, but that probably wouldn't turn out as good as I think it will. Well for once, I use my bed as my desk too whenever I need to get work done, and a beanbag desk? Nah.

To be honest, I was initially disappointed with the turn out. Things weren't as excited as I had hoped. On the first day, I got to meet the guys at Clementi really early in the morning and I met Marcus and Ben. They are very interesting people. We then cabbed to the place together with Avery Soh and Avery Chia. The place is so much different from how it was last year, but it seemed fine.

To be completely honest, the only reason why I went for PromaxBDA was for the after party drinks, which was sort of disappointing. This year, it was at Ta.Ke which is sort of like the sister bar of Timbre, and there was a limited number of drinks. I had fun though, we played spin the bottle and just chillaxed by the pool. The night was lovely. After drinks, JC treated us to ice cream. How nice of her.

Night was good. Food was good. Company was good. Life is good.

Retarded

I created my first simple computer programme when I was in fourth grade. I learnt how to play the guitar in about a day when I was 8 years old. I wrote my first song when I was in fifth grade. I taught myself HTML when I was in sixth grade. I scored myself 14 points for O levels without studying.

Yes, other people have probably accomplished more than that in a shorter period of time, but may I remind you that I did it to my own accord, and practically learned everything myself. With the exception of lessons in secondary school, of course. What makes people think I'm not intellectual?

Is it because I enjoy watching shows like Jersey Shore or 90210? Or is it because I am never seen with a book, and if I am, it's with something like Princess Diaries? Is it because I usually only talk about the superficial stuff? Or I speak in Singlish? Or is it because I'm extremely lazy?

That doesn't make someone's intelligence.

I enjoy bimbotic things, because they're entertaining, and I like being entertained. I enjoy easy-to-read books, because they're relaxing, and I like being relaxed. Ahh. Why can't people understand that? Just because I am incredibly chilled out, doesn't  mean that I can't use my brain when I want to.

So annoying.

In other news, the best thing I heard from the FMSA event today:

"My son studied overseas, but he wants to continue studying in Singapore. Actually, no. He didn't pick Singapore. He picked your course in FMS."

Photos, rings, and silly things.

I can't wait to have this new project up and running! I AM PSYCHED. I just realized that I've been starting or, at least, planning to start more projects and everything has been going so far! This is making me feel productive and happy.

A few days ago, I got a ring very similar to the one shown above. This is a Low Luv Armour Knuckle Ring by Erin Wasson in Gold, it retails for about SGD130, and it is beautiful. So when I saw a really close imitation to this for only SGD13, I whined until my friends forced me to just suck it up and fork out the money to get it.

I never meant to get anything a ring like this, especially something so expensive. I wouldn't even spend two dollars on a normal ring. In fact, I actually really dislike wearing rings, because I can never seem to find one to suit my fat, long fingers. But this knuckle ring just seemed really unique and lovely! This shall be the accessory of my lifetime! My signature thing, if you will. I am in love with it.

Since I currently have a friend's Wacom tablet to abuse for a week or two, I've been loving messing around with Photoshop and photos. It's not much of drawings/paintings, but I love using it as a cursor to manipulate things. So I've been making a lot of banner-like things, so could you kindly help me decide something? Do you think I should stay with my current blog banner or either one of the photos above? Thanks, guys! It'd be a big help. :)

I think I should probably sleep now. Despite the fact that I'm not going to school tomorrow, I need to catch up on sleep. Goodnight.

Solestruck

I have an unhealthy obsession with shoes. Not much of buying them really, but more of just staring and admiring them with intense longing.

I have three pairs of heels, three pairs of high-cut Converse sneakers, two pairs of low-cut Converse sneakers, a pair of brogues, three pairs of flats, a pair of flatforms, three pairs of flipflops, a pair of x-hi sneaker boots, a pair of Doc Marten-esque boots, and numerous random pairs of sandals. To be honest, I think that's A LOT of shoes considering I only regular wear like four pairs out of the whole lot. But despite knowing that, I still have a major crave for shoes.

I basically love anything basic in colour or design, but has something unique about its style. I love the studs and the platforms and the exaggeration of little things. There's just so much to do with shoes! So fascinating. I think shoes are definitely one of the most underrated things ever.

One day, I will own all the pairs of shoes listed in this blog post. I will try to attain them in this order. Leaving the special cosmic-patterned Lita for the last, since it is oh so special. Oh I am so psyched!

Infatuation

Not seeing the rest of you is getting the best of me.

I've been stalking this young lad, and of course I sound like a pedophile again, but I'm really not. This boy is four years older than me and I am enjoying myself. I was recently captivated by him when I saw him online. He's no musician or Youtuber or celebrity, basically. He's just a normal person I came across the internet. Well, an incredibly charming person.

I don't know why, but guys who can pull off Creepers or a tongue stud OR coloured contacts are automatically attractive to me. It's especially commendable if they're Asian. So I was just blown away when I came upon this guy's profile on Facebook while I was randomly derping around on the internet.

Hello, lovely guy. I hope that you would carry on wearing Creepers, stop your bad self-destructive habits, and be happy! :)

In other news, I just cut my fringe again into bangs. Why, you ask? It's so that when they grow out, I can part my fringe into wherever way I want! Smart ey? I think so. So anyway, while it's still in its bangs phase, I shall try to wear hats this week. Yes, this week shall be hat week. WEAR ALL THE HATS.

Oh man, I need to get more sleep. Goodnight.

Colours

Hullo there. It's my daddy's birthday today. I think you should all greet him. He's a delightful man.

It's only the third week of school and I'm already incredibly tired and exhausted from everything. All my modules are incredibly time-consuming, but I'm surprisingly enjoying everything. Some modules are really dry, like Social Psychology and Location Production, but those too are actually the most interesting modules! In my opinion, at least.

When I saw "Intro to CG" and "Animation Foundation" in this semester's timetable, I just knew I was screwed. Surprisingly enough, I'm really enjoying both modules! I am loving compositing work on Photoshop, and I love drawing using the lightbox. I am actually so psyched to start on our Intro to CG assignment that I already asked Arvin if I could borrow his Wacom tablet. I HAS A VERY EXCITE.

Today, Jeffrey told me I have a very distinct compositing look. Like a signature style. Colours. Practically everyone who knows me know I love colours! I am very in love with adding random blues, reds and purples into everything. Mini cosmic blowout, if I do say so myself. It kinda seems a bit wannabe hipster I guess, but whatevs.

So yeah, it was a good day. After school, I headed home then went for dinner at some tze char place. Tze char is awesome. We had a good birthday dinner. Happy birthday, daddy! You are seriously the best daddy ever.

I wore socks with my flatforms to school today. People thought it was weird, but I liked it. We all need to be demented sometimes.

Believe it or not, I'm Asian

In the beginning of August, I started a thread in Your Pants asking if anyone in interested in starting a collab channel. About three months later, Whoneedsplanes was born! I am so psyched! :)

I'm the Thursday of the group and here's my first video:

Happy thursday, everyone!

Burnt

I attempted to bleach my hair yesterday with the help of Trudy. It did not go as well as planned, but it did not turn out bad either. Granted that at normal lighting, it is not very noticeable, it is a good job for people of our caliber! Thank you, Trudy!

I'm pretty annoyed by a lot of things right now. I think people need to learn how to fight their own fights. Also, people need to fight a good fight, but know when to back down when they're wrong.  We are humans, and we are defensive by nature. We are also humans, we make mistakes.

A couple of people have recently told me that I could be extremely aggressive and arrogant. Of course, I felt offended initially. Who wouldn't be? But I did a bit of self-reflection and I guess they're right. I do get incredibly aggressive when I feel like I'm being wronged, and my balls grow a thousandfold, and I immediately attack that person and prove them wrong. I figured that it's not right, so I should probably stop. At least I know when to stop.

People should really learn when to stop.
