Thailand Part 4: Krabi p.2

Hi.

DAY 6:

The guy we met told us about an island nearby that was supposedly had amazing beaches and views, and was only a 30-minute boat ride away. So we had our brunch at our favourite restaurant at Krabi Town, got our snacks and drinks from 7-11, and headed off to the pier. Because of how hyped up people made it seem, we were pretty underwhelmed when we reached the island. After walking around, we found out that it was Railey Beach! One of the islands we visited on our Four Islands Tour. It was slightly disappointing, because as much as we love that island, it just wasn't as amazing as people made it seem.

We had to leave the island after a few short hours, because the last boats back to Krabi had to leave quite early. So we went back to our hostel to wash up and headed out to Ao Nang to hopefully catch the sunset. We ended up missing the sunset, so we went around Ao Nang to look for souvenirs. While walking, we saw flamboyantly-dressed transexuals asking people to go for their shows, we saw people walking around with monkeys on their shoulder, and even a guy with a hawk/some type of huge bird. It was quite a walk.

We then took a songthaew back to Krabi Town, and I got myself dinner from 7-11 and Lellel got a horribly disappointing meal from the food street. We also walked around and booked a Phi Phi Island Tour, then headed up to the hostel for an early night.

DAY 7:

We had no plans for this particular day, so we decided to sleep in. We went to have brunch at a restaurant right behind our hostel, only because our favourite restaurant was closed. We were so upset, that we went to get ourselves ice cream after brunch before heading back to our hostel.

We decided to head back to Ao Nang again to hopefully successfully catch the sunset. We had to wait for quite awhile before the sunset, so we just chilled by the beach and listened to OPM and took hilarious jump shots. The sunset was came and went, and we had a nice walk along the shore.

We got on a songthaew to head back to Krabi Town and had a mini panic adventure. Initially, we were the only people in the songthaew, but shortly after, these two Caucasian girls got on, and a bit after that, this Caucasian dude got on and started talking to the girls. We didn't mean to eavesdrop, but they were talking quite loud, so we heard their whole conversation, and basically the guy was flirting with the girls and was trying to get them to have dinner with him and explore Krabi Town. The girls were obviously getting more and more uncomfortable with his advances and even tried to get him to stop talking by pretending to sleep, but the guy kept talking and even touched her thigh and brushed her shoulders, which made the girl go, "why does everyone keep touching me", but the guy just laughed it off.

We were quite sensitive to the whole #onlyyesmeansyes #consent #feminist movement because of events that we've read about while we were on or trip, so we were looking at each other and both in a state of panic. The guy started lying to them about the time of the last bus back to Ao Nang and the price of a taxi trip back to Ao Nang, and it was just ridiculous. Somehow, we couldn't just butt in and said that he was giving wrong information, because it felt so weird. Thankfully, we all got off at the same stop and were heading into the same direction. I wanted to go up to one of the girls and tell them what's up, but the guy would just not leave them alone, even though the girls were obviously avoiding him.

Eventually, the girls lost him when they crossed the road, and I managed to catch up with one of them and tell her about the bus and the taxi, and just rushed off. Like a secret spy who just passed off information to an international correspondent. I really hope they turned out okay. We spent the rest of the night slightly scarred, and just drank it off back at Top-Up Bar.

DAY 8:

It was our final full day in Thailand, and we had the Phi Phi Islands Tour booked for the day. We got picked up from our hostel early in the morning and got dropped off at Ao Nang where we had to wait for the rest. We got on a speedboat this time, and even though we shared with at least 30 other people, it still felt kind of baller.

Our first stop was Bamboo Islands, and oh- my- goodness- even just typing those words gives me heart palpitations. This was hands down, our favourite beach out of every one we've been to. The water was extremely clear, the shore was incredibly clean and wide and spacious, the water had the most amazing tint of blue. I cannot say enough good things about Bamboo Islands, it is so beautiful. The only tiny negative thing we could say abot it is that some areas are really rocky, but it was seriously no big deal, it was that amazing.

We went snorkelling twice, and it was freaking hilarious. The life jackets kept going up, making it horribly difficult to actually get any swimming done, but that was what made things super fun. Every stop there was during the whole tour was just amazing. The waters were amazingly clear and had the most beautiful shade of blue . Even our lunch stop was nothing short of amazing! If you wanted to go on this particular tour, I would definitely recommend going with Ao Nang Orchid. Good service, good transport, good people, just sweet.

After our great tour, we were driven back to our hostel and we washed up and did a little packing before heading out to have dinner. When we got back to the hostel, we headed up to the rooftop for our usual Top-Up Bar drinks & chats session, and all hell broke lose. Our bar was closed! We were absolutely devastated, we didn't know what to do. We ended up buying our own drinks from 7-11 and brought them up to the rooftop. Later on, we found out that Playground Bar was open the downstairs, which was total shit.

The rooftop was a feeding ground for mosquitoes, so we moved down to the balcony  and had our little set up of drinks and fun. We planned to stay up at that spot until sunrise, and just not have a wink of sleep until our flight. We ended up meeting a couple of guys and chatted with them for most of the night.

DAY 9:

I didn't get a single second of sleep, and at around 5am, I went to shower and did some last minute  packing before heading up to the rooftop to catch the sunrise. We then headed down to get on our bus to the airport. And then that was it. We got on a plane, and got back to Singapore.
